In 2000, Sega changed the face of home video gaming with the release of Phantasy Star Online for the Sega Dreamcast. This seminal RPG was unlike anything ever seen before on a home console system, with immersive 3-D worlds,hours upon hours of non-linear gameplay and being the first ever Console online RPG. A new highwater mark had been set, Phantasy Star Online can be considered arguably one of the greatest video games ever.

The World of Phantasy Star Online
The picture to the right is of the whole Phantasy Star Online Team, which are Rangers, the 3 shown on the left of the picture, who are good with all guns and can use some close combat weapons.
Hunters the 3 shown in the middle section of the picture, who are brilliantly skilled with all close range weapons and lots of guns.
And Forces which are the last 3 shown in the Picture who are skilled with all forms of canes and wands, can use some close range weapons, and some guns.
